The platforms keep raising the price of being seen. More videos, more days in a row, more of your face. If that pace has ever made you want to quit before you start, you're not lazy. You're reading the deal correctly.
Today: the newest version of that deal, a free board for a pace you can actually keep, and research on why being "on" costs you more than it looks.
Quiet Win: the news
X is testing a bonus for 15 videos on 15 different days.
Tubefilter reported (Nov. 3) that X is piloting a Video Kickstart Bonus with a select group of creators. To qualify, they must post 15 qualifying videos on 15 different days within a set period, for bonuses that could be worth up to $3,000. Tubefilter notes YouTube is testing a similar invite only Shorts bonus that also rewards consistency.
Platforms pay for volume because volume feeds the platform. You don't have to take that deal. A steady written rhythm you own, sent to people who asked for it, compounds without a camera.
AI for Introverts
Two people, one week, one finished gadget.
On Nov. 3, OpenAI said two team members used its models to design a working test device, from the enclosure to the circuit board to the software, in under a week as a side project. A contract manufacturer built a small batch of prototypes in under a month.
What it means for you: the work that used to need a team, a pitch, and a room full of people is shrinking to one person and a keyboard, which is exactly where introverts already do their best work.
The Quiet Solution
Trello
You know you should show up regularly, but every plan you see assumes daily posting. So you post in bursts, go quiet for weeks, and then feel like you have to start over. The guilt from the gaps ends up costing more energy than the writing ever did.
Trello is a private board of cards you move from left to right. Make three lists, Ideas, Writing and Sent, and drop every idea in as a card with a due date that fits your real week. You see what's next at a glance, and nobody else sees the board unless you invite them.
Free tier: $0 with unlimited cards, up to 10 boards per Workspace, and due dates. Standard is $5 per user a month billed annually if you ever want more (checked on trello.com/pricing today). Not an affiliate link.
Advantage Introverts
Happy now, tired later
In a 2017 study in the Journal of Personality, Sointu Leikas and Ville-Juhani Ilmarinen of the University of Helsinki checked in with 48 people five times a day for 12 days. Acting outgoing went with better mood in the moment, but with more fatigue three hours later. That link was explained by the number of people someone had met, and it held regardless of personality traits.
So the drain you feel after a full day of people isn't a flaw. It's a measured cost, and it shows up for everyone. Building a business that runs mostly in writing isn't hiding. It's spending your energy where it pays back.
Protecting your energy is part of the work, not a break from it.
Try this today (15 minutes)
Open a blank board, in Trello or on paper. Make three columns: Ideas, Writing, Sent. Give yourself 10 minutes to add every post or email idea you've had this month, one per card. Then pick one, move it to Writing, and give it a day this week that you can actually keep.
